Miscellaneous Cels!
その他

This is a page of shows from which I only have one cel. That doesn't mean it's not a good cel, or not a good show! It just means that this is the only cel I've either 1. been able to buy or 2. found nice enough to be worth buying. Either that, or it just amused me. Enjoy!

3x3 Eyes
サザンアイズ

Yakumo Fuji

As heroes go, Yakumo Fuji is sort of pathetic at first. But it's a lot of fun to watch him suffer and keep coming back for more! ^_- Anyway, this is a cute little cel that I got at Anime Expo 98. I'm pretty sure it's from the 1st OVA series. I like the fact that you can actually see the Uu symbol on his forehead.

Bubblegum Crisis
バブルガムクライシス

Leon, Daily, and Nene

Nene's so good, she can hack with her eyes closed! Okay, I'll admit it. I have no idea if this is from Bubblegum Crisis or Bubblegum Crash. If you're a fan of the series who is horribly upset by this, write me an e-mail and let me know which series it is, and I'll fix the webpage. Anyway, I haven't seen either in several years. I got this cel at the auction at Arlingcon '98. It features Nene, Leon, and Daily. I really only bought it for the guys, which is why it doesn't really matter to me that Nene's catching up on her beauty sleep.

Card Captor Sakura
カードキャプターさくら

Li Syaoran

Smile! It's a cute cel of Syaoran from Card Captor Sakura. I got this cel from Asylum Comics. It's interesting because the registration holes on the cel of Kero-chan are on the bottom while the holes on the cel of Syaoran are on the top. Anyway, it's a really cute cel! Thanks to Sensei, I now know that this cel is from eps.23 "Sakura, Tomoyo, and Lovely Songs". Thank you!!

Conan the Future Boy
未来少年コナン

Captain and Monsely

The Captain and Monsely. This is so close to being a dream cel. I only wish I could see Monsely's face. Conan the Future Boy was a tv series directed by Hayao Miazaki.

Escaflowne (Vision of, Tenkuu no)
天空のエスカフローネ

Allen

This is probably the single least expensive cel of Allen on earth. The price was right, although I had to do a little clean-up to remove some paint from the front of the cel, especially on his face and hair.

Fire Tripper
炎トリッパー

The two main characters

This was a surprising cel to find. It's a cel of the two main characters from Fire Tripper, a short ova based on a work by Rumiko Takahashi.

Homeless Child Remi
家なき子 レミ

Remi and ??

Homeless Child Remi was the last World Masterpiece Theater television series produced by Nippon Animation. I haven't seen the whole thing, but this is a cel from that series. I got it from Anime Lane.

Irresponsible Captain Tylor
無責任艦長タイラー

Katori

Katori, from the tv series Captain Tylor. This was one of the first series that I memorized the theme song.

Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo (Kochi-Kame)
こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所 『こち亀』

Ryoutsu and Nakagawa

I got this cel specifically to show to Japanese people who were curious about my hobby but who didn't recognize my cels from other series. Everyone in Japan has seen Kochi-kame, even if they don't watch it regularly.

Ladius (Demon Frontier Legend Le Deus)

One of the robot girls

Thanks so much to Zag for identifying this cel for me. It's from Ladius, a one-shot OVA from 1987. I feel like I've seen it before, probably back when I was in college, but I don't really remember much. This cel came with a group I won on ebay.

Mama is a 4th Grader

Mama is prepubescent

Mama is a fourth grader? What kind of message are we trying to send our kids these days? Seriously though, I've seen only a couple of episodes, and it looks cute. I got this as a freebie.

Maison Ikkoku
めぞん一刻

Shun Mitaka

Maison Ikkoku was the first anime I really fell for, and the first anime television series I watched to completion - all 96 episodes. Don't ask me why I love Mitaka-san. I can't really explain it, however, I think I fell a little in love with him later in the series. I don't want to give spoilers. I got this cel from Curt Cowgill/Asylum Comics at Animfest '98. This is an END cel. I scanned the pencil with the cel at an offset.

Maple Town

Cute bunnies

I got this a few years ago because I thought it was a cute, sweet cel. I don't know the name of the characters, and I'm not completely sure of the series name, but since I have an idea I decided to put it here instead of on the Unknown page.

Nihon Mukashi Banashi
日本昔話

The All-Powerful, All-Knowing MAD PINK BEAN

Gaze in awe upon the majesty that is the angry pink BEAN. From the ending credits of Nihon Mukashi Banashi (Ancient Stories of Japan). Would you like to see more cels of the bean? Check out OG Hall of Wonders Cel Collection and Mala's 130% Mad Crazy Cel-ery.

serial experiments lain
シリアルエクスペリメンツ レイン

Lain

This is one of the most surreal series I've ever seen. This is a cel of Lain. Got this one from Animanga.

Silent Moebius

Chinese lady

This is from Silent Moebius TV series. I've never seen it. This cel was a freebie that I received with another cel. I can't remember the name of the girl in the cel, although I know someone at one of the forums identified it for me once before.

Sol Bianca
ソルビアンカ

Feb

There aren't very many of the "Girls with Guns" gendre that I really like. Shows like Bubblegum Crisis, Gall Force, Dirty Pair, etc., just really don't usually appeal to me, although they can be an interesting diversion. However, the one notable exception is Sol Bianca. I saw the Sol Bianca OVAs several years ago, and was impressed by the show. The character designs were nice, especially my favorite character, Feb. In fact, I think she's probably one of the most attractive female characters I've ever seen in anime. And that's saying a lot from me, who almost exclusively collects cels of guys. ^_- I also like the whole concept of female space-pirates in an amazing ship kicking butt throughout the galaxy. What can I say? I wanna be a pirate too! I got this cel for a steal from Nichibei Anime during AX99. (The scan came out darker than the cel unfortunately, so you can't see just how awsome it is. Sorry!)

Tenchi Muyo!
天地無用!

Tenchi

Okay, I couldn't pass this one up, especially at the price. I've seen the other cels from this scene with the strategically placed cabbit, but here's a cel without the cabbit! Now we know what lies beneath! A white sticker! And beneath the sticker?? Nothing! For some reason, I feel slightly disappointed. ^^

Toire no Hanako-san (Hanako of the Toilet)

Ghosts!

NEW! Without actually sitting down and checking, I can't remember this kid's name. However, this is a 2-cel set from Toire no Hanako-san. There are any number of versions, animated and live action, of the Hanako-san story. This particular anime was one of the three short films shown during the 1996 "Shochiku Anime Movie Festival". The other two films were the Nintama Rantaro movie and a short film called "Hamuko Mairu!" based on a manga by the same author. This film, Hanako-san, starred many of the same voice actors as Nintama Rantaro. It's a very cute, silly film.

Totsugeki! Pappara Tai
突撃!パッパラ隊

Jo and Linda

The guy I bought this from actually knew what I was talking about when I flipped through the stack of Pappara Tai cels and saw Jo and Linda. In every episode Jo and Linda are on a date, doing something romantic. And then they get blown up, squashed, or thrown into low earth orbit. ^_^ It's a stupid running gag, and that's why I like it. "Oh, JO!" "Oh, LINDA!"

What's Michael?
ワッツマイケル?

Micheal

This is an odd cel for me to own. It's from an anime series I've never actually seen (except for about 10 minutes of one episode). It's a series called "What's Micheal?" It's a show about a cat named Micheal, an orange tabby. However, even though I've never really seen the anime, I have every volume of the manga in Japanese and some of the English that has been professionally translated (check your local comic book or anime store!). It's a great manga! It's very easy to understand. In the manga, Micheal is actually several cats leading several different lives. One is a Yakuza's pet, another is the pet of a woman who has 5 cats. Another (and my personal favorite) involves the man with a wart on his nose to whom animals are somehow almost magnetically attracted. There are also fantasy sequences in which Micheal (and sometimes his family, including wife Popo and son) take on anthropomorphic characteristics. I love the one where Micheal starts dancing like Micheal Jackson in the Bad video. ^_^ Anyway, I understand that the TV series only focuses on a single family who own Micheal (a young couple who are also in the manga) and Micheal's life with Popo and his adversary, Nyaazilla. I really want to see it eventually. I assume that this is from a fantasy sequence, since Micheal is dressed like either Peter Pan or Robin Hood.

X the Movie
エックス

Yuuto Kigai

The X movie was not, IMHO, the best movie I've ever seen. In fact, it was terrible compared to the X manga series. However, it does give fans of the series a chance to own cels of their favorite characters! It took me a long time to find an X movie cel that I though was worth buying. This is a cel of Yuuto, one of the Dragons of Earth. He got stiffed in the movie version! He's actually a much cooler character than he is in his, what, 5 minutes of screen time in the movie? :-P But isn't he a cutie!

YAT Safe Space Travel

Boing

Obviously a freebie. I never bothered to scan it until now since it has such a tiny image.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Leonardo

This is a cute cel of Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I have a very large and comprehensive TMNT collection of toys and merchandise, but this is the only cel I've bought. I just love Leonardo. He's been my favorite character ever since I first read the Leonardo special comic by Eastman and Laird. Unfortunately in the first movie, they gave Leo's finest moment to Raphael, but I still like Leo better.

Titan AE

Cale

NEW! I got this drawing from ebay from someone who's name I should remember but don't. :( Anyway, it's a cute blue-line drawing of Cale from Don Bluth's "Titan AE". The edges aren't dirty or anything - It's just too big for my scanner, so there's light creeping in under the edges where the paper doesn't touch the glass.
